These Are the Days

I needed a quick break from my EBD Power Point presentation so I thought I would drop a feel good story. I 1^st caught it on a news site & then I caught it on the news.

There was this autistic kid named Jason McElwain out in New York that had been the manager of the basketball team. For the final game of the year, the coach added him to the roster so he could sit on the bench & get a jersey. That was cool enough.

With 3 or 4 minutes left in the game his team was up double digits so the coach put him in. The kid gets in the freaking game. It gets better.

He then goes off for 20 points in 3 minutes. Yea, he drilled 20 points in 3 minutes, 6 from beyond the arch & a couple throws. The fans stormed the court after the game & carried him off the floor. This is better than Rudy & I can guarantee a movie will be coming out of it.

This kind of leaves a question in my head. How is the coach still coach? It is great that he got the kid in the game, but he dropped 20 points in 3 minutes. The coach should be canned for not getting him on the floor sooner. This is like Phil Jackson sitting Kobe on the bench all year & him rolling out & dropping 81 on Toronto. Seriously, 20 points in 3 minutes? I don’t think I can score 20 in 3 without a defense on the floor. This team is nationally ranked with player on the floor.
