These Are the Days

Coming off a disappointing defeat, CYO Team 8 came into their next game looking to kill. Next up was Kimberly Team 11, supposedly the 2^nd best team in the entire league. Our team would prove otherwise. Individually, I was really nervous coming into the game. We did lose our last game & this team was supposed to be awesome. Favoring our side was the 1^st game appearance of Ass. Coach Cole.

The team started the game with a flurry of points. What was more impressive was their killer defense. The team dominated the 1^st half, ending it with a huge lead & allowing paltry 4 points. Yea….4 points in 20 minutes of play.

The 2^nd half started & things picked up where they left off in the 1^st half. It seemed like they were beating up on an old woman & enjoying the hell out of it. With 4 minutes left, the opposing team was sting at 7 points.

While the guys continued to D it up, they also were stroking it from 3. It seemed like no one was missing from the arc. The D started coming up to challenge shots & our guys kept stepping back to shoot the 3. I think Jordan, Marc, & Jesse all had 3’s from at least 5 feet behind the arc. It was crazy.

The shooting was awesome, but what makes this team good is their team attitude. We have more than 1 guy that can take over a game, but they all dish the ball. As good as they are on offense, they all love playing defense. it is a great bunch of guys to coach.

In any event, we ended up winning 67-15….yea… 67-15. watch out league. Record 2-1, This weekend is a bye, next game is 12/31 @ Holy Cross @ 2:30….
