Like We Never Loved At All

I think everyone knows how much I love country music. Rock is all about anger, rap these days is pretty much crap, & hippy music is for, well, hippies. Country just conveys every emotion across the board, from heartache to a crazy time. It just does it for me. There is just so much good stuff on the radio at all times. I mean, even Garth Brooks is back in it with an awesome new song. My current favorite song though, by far, is Faith Hill & Tim McGraw’s duet, Like We Never Loved at All. The song hooked me the 1st time I heard it. My Old Friend didn’t leave my playlist the entire 1st half of the year, & Just To See You Smile never leaves my playlist. Days Go By is my ringer so I hear that 15 times a day. This tune won’t for the entire next year, it has staying power.

Like We Never Loved At All is great for so many reasons & won’t even get into a list. In the words of Levar Burton, “Don’t Take my word for it.” It just hits me as such a real song.

I was trolling through CMT.com & found the video for the song & it conveys every emotion I imagined hearing it (Plus Tim has plain pimp style the whole video.). Check out the video & even though no one ever reads lyrics but I’ll paste them below anyway…

“Like We Never Loved At All”

You never looked so good
As you did last night
Underneath the city lights
There walking with your friend
Laughing at the moon
I swear you looked right through me
But I'm still living with your goodbye
& you're just going on with your life

How can you just walk on by
Without one tear in your eye
Don't you have the slightest
Feelings left for me
Maybe that's just your way
Of dealing with the pain
Forgetting everything
Between our rise & fall
Like we never loved at all

You, I hear you're doing fine
Seems like you're doing well
As far as I can tell
Time is leaving us behind
(Time-leaving us behind)
Another week has passed
& still I haven't laughed yet
So tell me, what your secret is
(I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know)
To letting go, letting go like you did
Like you did

How can you just walk on by
Without one tear in your eye
Don't you have the slightest
Feelings left for me
Maybe that's just your way
Of dealing with the pain
Forgetting everything
Between our rise & fall
Like we never loved at all

Did you forget the magic
Did you forget the passion
Oh, and did you ever miss me
& long to kiss me
Oh baby, baby

Maybe that's just your way
Of dealing with the pain
Forgetting everything
Between our rise & fall
Like we never loved at all
