Playas

I am going to start dippin' into my photo collection for blogs. This was a pic of the 3 Amigos taken @ J's hunting shack over Thanksgiving weekend. We didn't shoot anything but we did take plenty of shots. The 3 days felt like 1 because we got freaking hammered the entire time. Great memories... I love J's cabin...

Jaren's Cabin

Jaren’s cabin was definitely interesting for me this year. I got there a couple hours before everyone else & got all set up. The 1st night kind of sucked because my allergies hit me really hard. I got straight looped up on allergy medicine &, to be really honest, the mix of alcohol & medicine didn’t mix really well. I can remember barely anything from the night. Kiel & Rory rolled up, it was good seeing some of the L-Chute guys. But it wasn’t cool that I couldn’t go all out. I did set a trend for the rest of the week this night also, you know what I am talking about.

After waking up @ 6:30 & heading home for chem. Class, I was back up north by 2 on Wednesday. This turned out to be a hell of a weird day. We ran into town to get a keg &, after getting that situated, decided to gather wood. After hosing ourselves down with Deep Woods Off! & playing dress up with the large assortment of hunting gear, we all piled into the Alero & made our break for the woods. I gathered quite a bit of inspiration from Miah on last year’s wood gather trip for this journey. Hitting speeds of 45 mph on tight windy paths, we quickly gathered trunk load after trunk load of wood. I may have found my calling in life during this too. It would seem that I am quite the lumberjack, ripping through log after log with my hatchet. Watching the ESPN outdoor games definitely paid off big, it is all in the technique.

In any event, we built a hell of a pile of wood for our fire. The goal of the fire: To burn through a log that had been in the pit since last year & to nearly kill both J-Ron & myself. Both missions would be accomplished. After much delay, Jaren covered the pile of logs in 3 ½ gallons of gasoline. After safely clearing the area, I struck a match & let it fly. Boom! Flames shot between my legs & I was about 5-6 feet away. Everyone in attendance was amazed. Then the inevitable 15 year-old fucking around began. Aerosol bottle… aerosol bottle… can full of explosive material… we began to gun explosive material into the flames. Not satisfied with the results, Jaren & I began to add drama by gunning shit into the fire from 50 yards away, over everyone’s heads. We were remarkably accurate considering our intoxicated states. WE hit the center of the fire time after time. Chris likened it to soldiers mortaring an enemy position, I would agree. At the end of the night, Jaren interrupted my skin game of Tiger Woods to bring me out to the fire. “Dude, I just wanted you to see this too.” He lifted the end of a once 2’ thick log & tossed it in. The fire not only burned through this beast of a log, it consumed the whole fucking thing. Mission accomplished.

During this time I almost killed Matty, knocking his skinny ass off the deck. I apologize buddy, but not for laying you out after you attempted retribution, hippy boy. J

The night soon took a really strange twist. As Jaren & I went to the main rode to get Whitney who had made her way up, Cole did his best to rip off his arm. We ran into him as Elaina rushed his ass to the hospital. Turns out he ripped every possible thing that holds an arm on, nearly off, ouch. A group of us stayed up the rest of the night worrying & waiting for him to get back. When Elaina called lost, Whit & I set out to find their position in Cecil. We guided them back to the cottage & I decided I better get ready to go to school.

I had an exam Friday morning. Having had no sleep the previous night, I knew that I would sleep all Thursday so I packed up my stuff & headed home. There would be one more great surprise on the way home. I freaking nailed a morning dove 5 minutes away from the cabin. It wouldn’t have been a huge deal except for the fact it covered my car in feathers & lodged itself between the hood & bumper. With a quick stop at a gas station, I made an attempt to dislodge it with one of those window washer things. I got the body, but the head remained lodged under the head with the spinal cord hanging there. The clerk gave me a wonderful look of disgust. I popped the hood & it finally fell, thank god.

Moral, I still love Jaren’s cabin. Everyone thank me for leaving out all the hooking up, more than one person showed what a whore they are. If anyone would like to write the last night that I missed, I would be happy to post a guest column. I hear it included a case race, a Miah & Amanda appearance, & keg stands that turned into creepy, but not so surprising, feel up sessions.

My Computer & Lawn Mowers

So…. It been a month since I have written anything of substance for my site.

Last week I had a hell of a scare. My monitor 1st went down, that sucked & I still haven’t gotten that resolved with Dell. Next, my entire computer crashed. That’s a great feeling. I am way less retarded than the average person when it comes to computers so I was hella scared when I couldn’t get the issues resolved. Pretty much I spent the last week fearing that I had lost all my mp3’s & word documents. We are talking 100’s of hours of downloading over the past few years & everything I have ever written. In any event, I sat down today & spent about 8 hours racking my brain & finally just reinstalled windows. Magically I figured out how to recover my mp3’s. Well you can imagine my relief when I opened up my library & had everything there. The collection, according to MusicMatch, has 4243 songs filling up 26.23 gigs (Most of it free.). I have no idea how that stacks up against anyone else but I am damn proud of it. Anyway….

The other day J-Ron, Eric & I rolled to his cabin to mow the lawn for the up coming week partying up there. It was interesting to say the least. We rolled in & the grass was literally chest over half of the lawn we had to mow. Add into that the temperature was around 95 degrees & you have 3 guys sweating their ass off. J & I tackled the lawn up by the cabin with a couple of push mowers & Eric nailed the taller path with the riding mower. We must have sweated off about 15 pounds in water weight. Sounds like it sucked but not at all.

Once the bulk of the work was done, we began to fuck around. Yea, fucking around with lawn mowers is always a great idea. 1st we were pushing the push mowers down a huge hill. Fun but actual work. We then began to experiment with the riding mower. 1st I tried driving it around J’s 3-wheelin’ path. I got the mower stuck. Then I tried going up a 10 foot hill with a 45 degree angle. After almost rolling over backward we determined it would be better to try to go down it. A couple rolls down the hill & I decided I valued my life more than a little fun on the mower.

There are no morals to these stories. I might write something on the party at Chris’ last night & the interesting visitors & Jaren’s return to form.

On a completely different subject, a good friend of my family, Lyle, unexpectedly passed away this evening. Please say a prayer for him & his family.
